Jigme Dorji National Park
The Jigme Dorji National Park named after the late Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, is the second-largest National Park of Bhutan. It occupies almost the entire Gasa District, as well as the northern areas of Thimphu District, Paro District, Punakha, and Wangdue Phodrang Districts. It was established in 1974 and stretches over an area of 4316 km².
On the list of tentative World Heritage Sites for a long time, the park covers areas ranging in elevation from 1400 to 7000 metres, it houses an incredibly varied biodiversity. The spot is perhaps the best spot to see in Punakha and for birdwatchers. You may find red panda or blue sheep here. The jeopardized Himalayan Black bear, snow panther and Bengal Tiger are additionally found here. It is also the only park in Bhutan where the national animal (takin), flower (blue poppy), bird (raven) and tree (cypress) exist together.

Timing to Visit Jigme Dorji National Park
Tourist can visit the park throughout the year . there is no restriction to visit the park. But its advice to avoid the rainy season.
